‘Tis the Season for Depression

I struggle with depression and have noticed this time of the year is harder, when that post-holiday slump hits. But God gives me joy when I ask and He sends others to help me back up.
These lyrics have been rolling around in my head for the past week and I thought I’d share:
‘Tis the season for depression.

Sometimes it looks like aggression.

Or you want to stay in bed.

Or you wish that you were dead.

Smoking pot is not the answer.

It might even give you cancer.

Overeating might seem fun.
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!
Until you find you weigh a ton.

There’s no shame in feeling glum.
Fa-la-la-la-laaa-la-la-la-la!
It can affect anyone.
Fa-la-la-la-laaa-la-la-la-la!
Just admit when sadness pinches.
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!
Denial keeps you in the trenches.
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!
Call your doctor for a visit.
Fa-la-la-la-laaa-la-la-la-la!
Or meet with a therapist.
Fa-la-la-la-laaa-la-la-la-la!
Tell a friend that you need help.
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!
Speak up for your mental health.
Fa-la-la-la-la-la-la-la-la!
